A sale for the properties last year fell through and a refinancing was unsuccessful.Vornado is concerned that investors and potential lenders are staying away from the properties because of the Trump Organization’s ownership, according to the Journal, citing people familiar with the matter.Vornado has even looked at finding a reason to withhold the property’s income from the Trump Organization, according to people familiar with the matter, the Journal reported. This move could ultimately head to court and force a separation, the sources said.A person close to Vornado CEO Steven Roth said no formal offer has been made. A Vornado spokeswoman said the firm declined to comment on the sale or refinancing efforts.Roth is a longtime friend of Donald Trump’s and supported the former president even as others distanced themselves from him.Trump told the Journal in a brief interview that “Vornado has been an excellent partner so far and we expect that to continue.”The former president declined to comment on whether Vornado had offered to buy out the Trump Organization’s stake in the properties. He said they were “two of the best buildings in this country.”The properties have provided stable, long-term income to the Trump Organization, which has seen revenue decline during the pandemic and endured backlash from the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol. A sale could help the Trump Organization pay its more than $400 million in debt coming due.[WSJ]  — Keith Larsen Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on LinkedinShare via Email Share via Shortlink Share via Shortlinklast_img read more

FFA members from Charles City, Rockford help Nebraska flood victims

first_imgCHARLES CITY — Some two dozen FFA members from Charles City and Rockford took a six-hour trip to east-central Nebraska over the weekend to provide manpower and supplies to a flood-stricken family.Charles City sophomore Justin Heyer says the devastation at the Drew Wolfe cattle operation is unimaginable.  “It’s just horrible seeing how we can have such a successful spring in Iowa and then we come down here, just the next state over, and it looks like a beach right now,” Heyer says. “It’s like we’re by the ocean. Everything is just flood plained, destroyed.”The Platte River left its banks near Schuyler, Nebraska, and raged across corn fields, feed yards and swept away a third of the operation’s 2,500 head of cattle. The FFA members picked up and rebuilt fences destroyed during the record-setting event. The rancher, Wolfe, says the random act of support from the 25 students was overwhelming.“It’s nice to see kids wanting to come help,” Wolfe says. “There’s been a lot of that but it’s pretty amazing.” Rockford FFA member Sawyer Salisbury skipped a benefit Saturday for his own family who lost their house in a fire on February 2nd to go to Nebraska. “When my house burned down, everybody was there to help me so I figured I’d go help someone else in need,” Salisbury says. FFA members who helped flood victims.FFA members raised $3,500 during a two-hour fundraiser to help offset the costs of the trip. Another $2,500 came in later that’s being donated to the #nebraskastrong cause. Rockford FFA member Jayden Jorgensen says the experience is something she’ll never forget. “This is where you learn your life lessons, respect for others, respect for livestock, compassion, all of those good qualities that makes a good community member,” Jorgensen says. The Floyd County Cattlemen’s Association joined members on the trip. The Problem With Believing Your Customer Is Your Problem

first_imgThe woman sitting next to me at the airport was upset. She supplies a product to a company that resells it on the web. She has had a meeting every quarter for three years with her customer. During every one of these meetings, she has introduced them to new products, and they have never purchased anything new. Her customer has spent $250,000 a year with her company for the last three years. They Owe Me!But the woman sitting next to me is upset. Her customer refuses to buy her new products, even though she has better products to sell them. Worse still, they haven’t updated their website, and all the products that she does sell them have new, better packaging. She needs them to change, but they won’t give her a meeting. As she was complaining to someone from her team, she was getting more and more upset until, exasperated, she yelled, “They owe me a meeting!”She is struggling because she is having trouble getting her customer to change (who hasn’t been here?). But her words and her attitude betray the fact that she believes that they need to help her. And this is where she has gone off the tracks. They don’t need to help her; she needs to help them. She might want to understand why they haven’t bought any of the new and better products her company offers. She might also want to know why they haven’t updated their website with the new graphics she has provided them. She might also want to explore why they don’t feel like meeting her provides them with any value.Where the Problem LiesAll of the outcomes she needs would be easier to obtain if she changed her point of view about where the problem lies.Maybe she needs to stop pitching them every quarter and try to understand what they believe they need or why they fear changing products. Maybe she needs to understand what constraints are preventing them from upgrading the graphics on their website (Maybe she could even provide them some web support). Maybe she needs to understand their business challenges well enough to serve them in some other way.But one thing is for certain:Whenever you believe your customer is your problem, that belief is your problem. You can’t change people. You can only change your approach so that you can generate a different response. The sooner this salesperson changes her belief about where the problem lies, the sooner she can get the results she needs. Essential Reading! After coaching first game, Ildefonso says he has no plans of becoming head coach

NU trailed, 43-40, at the end of the first half and it was in the first 20 minutes of the game that Ildefonso looked rattled, a far cry from his days as the PBA’s Demolition Man.“During the first half I was really nervous, being a player is really different from being a coach. As a player, I immediately knew what to do with a ball, but as a coach there are so many players that you have to look at. And you also have to look at your opponents.”NU’s captain Matt Salem may have given Ildefonso a “10 over 10” mark in the legendary player’s debut as head coach, the San Miguel icon humbly gave himself a less impressive grade.“To be honest, as a coach I’ll give myself a really low grade,” said Ildefonso.ADVERTISEMENT Kin of Misamis Oriental hero cop to get death benefits, award — PNP Trending Articles PLAY LIST 00:50Trending Articles05:18After the Typhoon Part 201:00Chief Justice Peralta on upcoming UAAP game: UP has no match against UST01:37Protesters burn down Iran consulate in Najaf01:47Panelo casts doubts on Robredo’s drug war ‘discoveries’01:29Police teams find crossbows, bows in HK university01:35Panelo suggests discounted SEA Games tickets for students02:49Robredo: True leaders perform well despite having ‘uninspiring’ boss02:42PH underwater hockey team aims to make waves in SEA Games Stronger peso trims PH debt value to P7.9 trillion Read Next It’s hard for someone of Ildefonso’s caliber to feel any pressure inside a basketball court, but that happened on Sunday when he subbed in for the suspended Jamike Jarin as National University’s head coach in the UAAP Season 80 men’s basketball tournament. And although NU took a 91-83 victory against University of Santo Tomas, Ildefonso knew coaching is far from him.FEATURED STORIESSPORTSWATCH: Drones light up sky in final leg of SEA Games torch runSPORTSSEA Games: Philippines picks up 1st win in men’s water poloSPORTSMalditas save PH from shutout“I really don’t have any ambition to be a head coach,” said Ildefonso in Filipino at Filoil Flying V Centre. “Honestly, coaching’s not for me.”“Coach Jamike knows it but he told me that I wasn’t exactly geared for that path.
